August 26, 2021 at 6:29 PMHi Ashley,
Wow, I didn’t think of adding ingredients to my salt ever. I will try this as soon as I buy all the ingredients. I do have a question about this, though. Won’t the ingredients make the salt mold and give a weird taste after a while? I ask this because some foods don’t mix well with certain ingredients. Another question, if you don’t mind. Can I use this blend of salt and ingredients in salads?
Thank you for this excellent idea!
August 28, 2021 at 11:20 PMHi Daniella,
You’re welcome! It’s very quick to make and making your own will save you money as well vs buying store brought seasoned salt. That’s a great question! As long as all ingredients are dried and all ingredients don’t expire within a year, it should not mold or give a weird taste. Yes, this seasoned salt tastes great on salads too.
August 30, 2021 at 1:28 PMAnother great article from you! I love this and will definitely try this version. I also mix garlic, parsley and salt together, it makes a great seasoning for vegetable soups and broths. I like to experiment with all sorts of mixtures as I have a little herbs and spices garden, and it’s such a great feeling when you find pairs that match so well in taste.
Thank you for your post,
j.
September 2, 2021 at 12:19 PMThanks Reka! I will definitely try that mix for my soups and broths.
December 14, 2021 at 4:55 PMHi, Ashley. I love this article. I also make my own seasonings for grilling and general cooking, but it’s always been a little of this and a little of that. The fact that you spell it out and let me know what exactly to put in it the container is most helpful. Just using your seasonings in advance and letting the meat sit for a little while makes all the difference in the world.
Thanks.

December 16, 2021 at 9:03 PMThanks for this post. I’m wondering if it matters what kind of salt I should use? Is it okay to use Pink Himalayan salt? I’m on keto so I can’t use it on potatoes, pasta or rice. But I can use it on my vegetables, especially cauliflower rice or cauliflower mashed potatoes. I love mixing different spices together. It makes for an interesting taste on dishes.
